The house of cards is tumbling down. A
Washington Post article calls Democratic efforts at reassessment "frantic".
The loss of their Senate supermajority has required a frantic reassessment of their strategy. Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) have pledged to complete work on the massive bill they started nearly a year ago, but they have yet to identify a clear way forward that will appeal broadly to their rank-and-file.
Obama added to the confusion Wednesday when he seemed to endorse one option: having both the House and the Senate start from scratch, by voting on a scaled-back package of popular provisions that would crack down on insurance companies but provide health coverage to far fewer additional people.
With the 2010 election approaching like a freight train, House Democrats are abandoning ObamaCare in droves. The Obama administration is stunned and in disarray. In the midst of it all, the Republicans, estranged from their base, are rudderless and clueless.
Well, like BO said, the election was just the same anger that got him elected.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense, doesn't it? Let's see, we were angry about health care and the economy and so voted for Obama, then a year later rejected his candidate, that he personally stumped for.
Yup, that's the ticket.
So much for a new era of politicking. I can't remember a sitting prez blaming the previous prez so often and so continuously. How admirable! What gravitas!
These idiots are driving me crazy. At least I always have someone to imagine as my opponent when I'm going at the Heavy Bag!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! When you said heavy bag, I immediately pictured Helen Thomas :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, Florrie. That's mean....... I love it!
ReplyDeletetee hee, now if only I could post a picture of her in comments to emphasize my point, Luther :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree florrie, I wonder why we can't post pictures in the comments. I tried but it said the code wasn't allowed.
ReplyDelete" agree florrie, I wonder why we can't post pictures in the comments. I tried but it said the code wasn't allowed."
ReplyDeleteWell dang, I hadn't tried as yet, thought Florrie was talking about posts for some damn reason.
Likely a protection against the bad guys.
I notice the blockquotes aren't allowed, as well.
ReplyDeleteSince Lady Red has NOTHING to do but maintain a blog, maybe we should just get a stand-alone site.
Luther, I guess not allowing photo's is kind of understandable but not allowing blockquotes, or opening a hyperlink in a new page doesn't make any sense to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what's with apostrophies in the recent quotes showing up as '?
I think it all has to be set up by our blogmistress, lady "has-lots-of-leisure-time" red :-)
ReplyDelete"I think it all has to be set up by our blogmistress, lady "has-lots-of-leisure-time" red :-)"
ReplyDeleteNot with all those quadratic equations she is having to master. :)
I know you were joking, Florrie.
Yeah, I was joshing her, Luther :-) My little sister is also working and going to school, she's around lady red's age, they both have very little spare time. I know Fay travels a lot for her job and afw is superwoman, Sojo is also a working mom, so I guess I'm the only lady on TCKS with LOTS of spare time!
ReplyDeleteTom just came in and scoped out the new blog over my shoulder, he likes it.
I too am feeling the limitations of the platform. I'm doing a "deep dive" on web tech. No promises though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I do get code working, it's often very good, but sadly it is also often very late.
I've tried people, I really have, but I have no clue how to insert images/emoticons into comments. The code isn't allowed for some reason! Blogger is a very simplistic platform. We may have to live with it for the time being, until someone (staring at lewy) moves us to a more sophisticated platform. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyone who knows more about this than me (that would be just about everybody!) who'd like to help florrie and I with the admin, please raise your hand, and we'll try not to mob you with hugs and kisses of undying gratitude....heh!
