  1. I like a lot of those too, here are some I have to add - Bernachon's, George Sand, Notre Dame, Coquilles St. Jacques, Versailles room of mirrors. I was only in France once but it was a wonderful trip that I'll never forget. The first time I had espresso was in a outdoor cafe in Lyon. I felt like Lucy waiting for Maurice Chevalier to stroll by.

I haven't tried those fragrances and I KNOW I'll check out St. Honore cake.

    Class. Fay haz it.

    :-)

  2. I just looked it up. That's what I want for my birthday, can you please tell me where to get one??

Seriously. I could never make something that complex with puff pastry and all.

Now I will be dreaming of eclair cake all night. Fay, you're cruel.

    heh heh, just teasing.

I am dieting though, I shouldn't look at dessert recipes right now.

  3. OK, am I seriously going cuckoo? I could have sworn that Fay's list was 20 and now it's 21.

    hmmm...

  4. I think she just added Catherine Deneuve. Well, I have to agree. I remember noted photographers talking about her and saying she was the only subject they had photographed who didn't have a better "side" to shoot - equally beautiful from both profiles.

    I love Brigitte too.

  5. I also loved Pepe le Pew, er, I mean Yves Montand.

  6. I hope lady red's mom is doing better.

    Night, all!

  7. I hope lady red's mom is doing better.

    Me too florrie.

As for my list of favorite French things, it's mostly unprintable.

  8. florrie:"OK, am I seriously going cuckoo? I could have sworn that Fay's list was 20 and now it's 21."

    LOL, the joy of "Edit"

    And yes, it was Catherine.

  9. I'm glad you added Catherine. I've been in love with her for years. Has everyone seen 'Repulsion'?

    Hahaha... that's funny, Lewy.

And, Lady Red, I also hope your mom is doing better.

  10. My absolute favorite Deneuve movie is East/West.

I just LOVE that movie, although I'm probably biased because it is in French and Russian - so AFG and I are both happy.

And the story line is excellent.

  11. Oh, and I'd like to add "My Godmother" to the list of French things I love.

  12. I haven't seen Repulsion, is it good, Luther?

  13. Haven't seen East/West either, thanks for the recommendations, guys, I'll add them to Netflix queue.

  14. Repulsion is good, but scary. It has been years since I've seen it so my memory may be faulty. Though it may not be your cup of tea, Florrie. Here is the plot summary.

I read a synopsis of East/West earlier, it does sound an excellent film.

  15. Egad! Tnaks for the link - sounds good to me, I just added all 3 to my queue.

  16. Tnaks? Sheesh. Thanks is what I meant, Luther.

I had to get up EARLY today, that's my excuse :-)

  17. Oooh! I'm going to try Repulsion!

I love the download thing on Netflix. We watch the movies through our XBox "on the download" more than we watch the regular way.

Actually, I don't think we've ever played games on the XBox...

  18. I watched a documentary on the computer for the first time a couple days ago. We finally have a decent computer chair, I could never sit here long enough to watch one before.

    I don't get near the XBox, that's exclusively Tom's domain :-)

  19. LMAO! I think if AFG was home there would be pee marking around the XBox. Certainly around the tools.

  20. I deliberately didn't learn how to use the PS3 or its controllers. Now I don't have to worry about caving in to the kids demands to play video games, I don't ever have to be the one who puts in or on the video. I bought it, but I don't touch it. Works out nicely! Now if I can just convince them that I don't know how to work the kitchen.

  21. "Now if I can just convince them that I don't know how to work the kitchen."

    LOL, yes, if only!

Er, maybe not, come to think of it...

  22. Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. We brought Mom home from the hospital this afternoon. She's resting comfortably in her recliner, and happy as a clam to be home with Dad. :)
