The Age of Aquarius / Let The Sun Shine In



Flavor notes:
  • There is a hint of menace in this cover, which I find profoundly comforting.
  • Muddy sound production is intentional, and recalls '70s cheap turntables and thrashed speakers.
Altogether an artfully different take on an old standard.

    I love the original by The 5th Dimension, it was really popular when I was in high school and I totally relate this song to the summer of '69. My junior year prom theme was the Age of Aquarius (I didn't go, my boyfriend was in Vietnam). I do like this version too, particularly the refrain with the slide guitar. Nice change-up, lewy.
