Goodnight sweet prince.

In the wintertime
Keep your feet warm
Keep your clothes on
And don't forget me
Keep the memory
But keep your powder dry too

In the summer
By the pool side
While the fireflies
Are all around me
I'll miss you when I'm lonely
I'll miss the alimony too

Don't forget me, please don't forget me
Make it easy on me just for a little while
You know I'll think about you
Let me know you think about me too

When we're older
And full of cancer
It doesn't matter now
Come on, get happy
'Cause nothing lasts forever
And I will always love you

Don't forget me, please don't forget me
Make it easy on me just for a little while
You know I'll think about you
Let me know you think about me too

You know I'll think about you
Let me know you think about me too

Joe Cocker, May 20, 1944 - December 22, 2014 RIP

    1. I thought I might already be in trouble for posting so many (and this is after deleting 4 others). I'm glad you posted it, Matt, I'll put it in a hyperlink.

    2. I don't really know, but I can't help but think that he would have found it hilarious. I burst out laughing every time I watch it.

However, feel free to add as many music links as you wish. Music is good for the soul.

    3. Matt, I just thought it was the Woodstock rendition. I haven't seen that one in YEARS, I love it! Hoggify, hee hee.

I think you're right, he probably loved it too, he never seemed like the type to take himself too seriously.

Funny how we are so moved when someone we have never met passes. But I feel desolate tonight, like I lost a close friend. I'm losing my youth one person at a time.

    4. And yes, music is good for the soul. I've spent the evening listening to his music.

  2. He was a soulful and sexy singer that moved me to my core. He also had a great sense of humo(u)r.

  3. A true original, and one of the most soulful voices ever, despite the fact you could not understand most of his lyric.

I was thinking of posting the "translation" video, glad Matt/Florrie did it, because my links never work.

  4. I LOVE his gravelly voice and bluesy style...his music will live on for a long, long time.

The "translation" video is hilarious. It always gives me a great laugh!

  5. Almost 25 years ago (July 1990), somebody I knew in passing called me and said he had tickets to see Joe Cocker. He was desperate because he didn't know anyone who wanted to go, so he offered the ticket for free and that he would drive. Kind of hard to turn down. :)

When we got there and he handed me my ticket, I discovered that Joe was opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan. Woohoo!!!!! Bonus!!!

Both sets were fantastic - rocking!

It was the last time I saw SRV; he was tragically killed in a helicopter crash 6 weeks later.

It was also the last time I saw the guy that hooked me up with the show. I actually had to convince him not to leave after the the Joe Cocker set - he had never even heard of SRV. =8^O

Anyway, I always remembered that experience when I'd hear either of them; the memory was triggered again when I heard of Joe Cocker's passing last week.

    RIP.

  6. Happy New Year, joem!

Was that the AM42 concert? :-) It's so cool that you 2 Ferkakta guys met and went to a concert. And also pretty awesome that an acquaintance gave you a ticket to see Joe Cocker and SRV!! I saw Joe Cocker in the 80's...it could have been the early 90's...pretty bad when I can't even remember which decade it was! I would have loved to see SRV, I'm just crazy for his music, his singing, no one plays like him, he had that instantly recognizable sound.
