The Faces of 9/11

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 22,000 words about that day we will never forget. In memory of those who perished and in honour of those who survived. Today, we reflect and remember. But the anger remains. And we pray that our leaders have half the courage of the great man who wrote these words:

One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!
Winston Churchill

  2. I would like to say "Never again," but as long as we have the Kumbaya crowd running things you know it will happen again.

Just get on a Greyhound bus.

  3. My only comment will be to express gratitude and awe at the courage, sense of duty, love for their fellow man actually, of those men and women who went up the down staircase on 9-11-2001. I doubt seriously I would have had the same courage. It takes special people. They will forever be special.

  4. Fay - what a perfect way to remember. The faces show everything.

I'd second what Ari said, and add: gratitude and awe as well to those who arguably did the most to keep air travel safe in the last ten years.

To the passengers of flight 93.

  6. Yes, Fay, thank you. And thanks to all of you here for being a well of sanity in a maddening world.

I'm expecting my flights today to be somewhat quieter than normal, perhaps even somber, as all we passengers reflect on the events of ten years ago.

Don't miss Steyn today. The war isn't over. And it isn't just 'over there' either.

  7. Thank you for this post Fay. So heartbreaking.

Today we remember the innocent victims, and we afford the highest honor and respect to the passengers of flight 93 and to the first responders of 9/11...civilians who gave their lives defending and protecting America from Islamic terrorists hellbent on destroying our very way of life.

Today memorializes bravery, courage, and the resilient American spirit.
