“The President’s empty rhetoric and broken promises are a slap in the face to millions of Hispanics across the country,” Republican National Committee spokeswoman Ruth Guerra said in a statement reacting to Saturday’s announcement. “This is more evidence that Democrats never really wanted to fix our immigration system when Republicans were sitting at the table. Immigration reform will continue to be the President’s biggest failure as long as he keeps playing politics and refuses to work with Republicans.”
I'd vote UKIP but I live in the wrong country.
ReplyDeleteI recently changed my registration to Democrat so I'd get ballots that the leaders will be chosen from, rather than ballots filled with people who like to play dress up and pretend to be running for office.
I'm an Indie, and have been for many years. Here in Arkansas, I can ask for a Dem or a Repub ballot in the primaries. Which ballot I ask for is dependent upon key races.
ReplyDeleteHow do you guys feel about Mitt rattling his saber? Will he run again? Can he beat Hillary? Do we care? I can't shake the feeling that the last election was rigged, and that the Repubs were too cowardly to challenge the results because, you know, black. Who do you all want to see be nominated to the Repub ticket?
I just noticed the new graphic at the top of the sidebar. I recognize the Star of David, of course, but what is the second symbol?
ReplyDeleteIt's the Arabic/Farsi/Urdu letter "Noon", which is a symbol for Middle-Eastern Christians.
DeleteThank you Jourdan!
DeleteIt is used to denote "Nazarene" (or Christian) and is the symbol ISIS puts on the doors of those who've been given the choice to convert, or be murdered in brutal ways while having their wives & daughters (and probably sons, given the propensities of muslims) raped and sold into slavery
DeleteI put the graphic there lady red and then forgot to tell you.
DeleteIt's great Fay! I'm glad you put it there! :)
DeleteI despise the leadership of the Republican party, but the Republican party does provide the the best structure for for winning. As Alfonzo Rachel said, "If you can't get control over a political party, how do you expect to get control of a country?" Wise words.
ReplyDeleteAlfonzo Rachel is indeed a wise man...but if the repubs run McCain again, will you vote for him? I cannot. I'll vote for Mitt, but he's sure not my first choice.
DeleteAs he said, if you can't take control of the party, how do you expect to take control of the country?
ReplyDeleteGet involved. There is a quote at the top of this page. I told you where it came from. It still applies.
We can take our marbles and go home and watch everyone else play, or we can start standing up in the game as it is and tell the McCains that they are not wanted.
Well said Matt!
DeleteEvery time I hear the word "reform" in relation to any government activity, I grow ill. Why? Because I've been in the middle of several. Dervishes whirl but no improvement is achieved.
DeleteReform of immigration is total bullcrap until we have a secured border, both southern and northern. Until that is achieved the rest is pure political hookum and a means to grow the bureaucracy larger still. Get the borders fixed, then talk about amending our immigration policies.
Florrie, we were talking about Tom Cotton this morning...guess what? He'll be here on Saturday afternoon, in a little town 8 miles from us! Noah and I are going to talk to him, and to give him all our encouragement (and $$$ too).
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic, lady red. Good for you guys for getting so involved. We will be with you in spirit!!
ReplyDeleteWe've been calling friends and neighbors to join us. This race will be a squeaker, and we need every vote we can get.
