I'm tired

I must admit that I do not follow opposing views very closely. By that I mean that I do not go looking for them; they find me. Today I saw the latest issue of Newsweek. On the cover was a picture of President Trump with a helmet that had four stars on it. The headline: "Can Trump's generals save America, and the world, from Trump?"

Let's see now. Trump is having to deal with North Korea, to whom Bill Clinton gave nuclear weapons on a silver platter and is now threatening to blow up the world. Not far behind North Korea is Iran, to whom Obama gave nuclear weapons on a silver platter and is threatening to blow up Israel and whatever part of the rest of the world not blown up by North Korea.

But President Trump is the problem. As Maxine Waters said, "I'm afraid Trump will lead us into war if North Korea nukes us."

I saw a post of Facebook from a Seattle news station about the person shot, once, and killed in Georgia by a campus police officer. The headline included that the person shot did not use traditional pronouns such as "he" and "she," but rather "they," I guess because that is inclusive. One of the commenters said that society would be better off without police officers because all they do is go around shooting innocent people.

People whose entire lives have pretty much been lived in "safe spaces" are clamoring to to have safe spaces. You know, because the police who would save their sorry rear ends from violent thugs sometimes have to use violence to save their sorry rear ends from violent thugs.

The left had better hope that some modicum of civility remains. If it does not, if things go to hell in a hand basket, then the left will have to go up against people who did not get participation trophies, people who actually had to work for a living and face hardships face-on.

When that happens the left won't know what to do.

  1. As a glass half full kinda gal, I really want the ridiculousness to multiply by a factor of ten. Because, even now, at a level that is below a factor not multiplied by ten, we are starting to see them eat their own. Each "victim" "oppressed being" "aggrieved human" can point to a specified group that is trying to co-opt their victimhood. And, viola!, we see the ludicrousness that is this And there is a WHOLE PLANET FULL OF THAT SHIT just waiting to be stirred (or flung, if you prefer).

  3. I didn't watch the Emmys (drivel that it is) but I heard that Sean Spicer made a traitorous ass of himself.

We "deplorables" have a long memory Sean. A long memory indeed.

  4. So for anyone watching at home...

... did Trump *actually* call KJU of the DPRK - yeah, that guy, that f**king guy – yeah did he actually call that prick "Rocket Man"?

    Because that's... kinda awesome tbh.

    1. At the UN, that is.

I mean shit Trump should have just live tweeted a few right from the damn podium at the UN. Srsly.

  5. OK, I finally figured out I can still access TCKT (as myself) through Firefox, even though I cannot through IE.

I agree with all of you, from "Shit to be flung" to "no mercy" to "that's kinda awesome" - and from the clip I've seen, Trump did call the fatfool 'Rocket man' at the UN.

Not much makes me smile, lately, but that did

    1. It's been an awful day. I'm still in shock. Shocked at the carnage, and shocked by the left's reaction to it.

Trump's press conference was outstanding. I had tears in my eyes.

And then, when I thought this day couldn't get much worse, Tom Petty died. I want to crawl back in bed and pull the covers over my head.

      Or something.

    2. Last Refuge has the police radio traffic from last night. Funny how the police were still talking about multiple shooters 48 minutes into the recording. I realize that things were topsy-turvy, but still.

I think it is obvious that there is much more to this than they are letting on. Here is a guy who apparently has no history of doing anything with guns (although I did read in one place that he was a hunter) and is able to be Rambo -- using knowledge that a hunter would not know. The audio, and the carnage, indicate that automatic weapons were used. Comments that I have read indicate that the burst that were heard would have melted the barrel of an AR-15.

Hopefully with Trump in the White House we won't get a bunch of "Move along, folks, there is nothing to see here."

And there was the picture of the "shooter" wearing p***y hat at an anti-Trump rally.

I also noticed that there were many police officers from around the country in the audience. My initial thought when I first heard of the incident was that the was an anti-conservative attack.

At least even CBS had the good sense to fire that idiot attorney who said she had no sympathy for the victims because country music fans were likely to be Republicans. Maybe the big brass has had a couple cups of coffee, looked at the NFL ratings, and realized that the American people are getting mighty pissed off.

BTW, I read that ANTIFA is planning something big on November 4.

    3. Matt, I've listened to some of the audio. I'm wondering if we're hearing echoing? I would think that sound would bounce off of those big hotels.

This guy isn't just some random guy. Although automatic rifles can be bought on the black market, I would think there would have to be some training involved. I've never fired one personally, so I don't know.

I seriously doubt this loonybird was recruited and supplied by ISIS. SRSLY. Antifa? Maybe. If it's an antifa operation, would Trump's gov't tell us? Would that mean that these are the first shots of a civil war?

The whole thing is just incredibly sad. I can't even feel anger yet.

  11. Is November 4th a special date? Nothing is coming to my mind.

I lay a lot of the blame for what happened in Vegas at the doorstep of CNN (and the rest of the MSM). They've whipped sentiments into a frenzy. Intentionally. Knowing that people would get hurt, or worse. They've knowingly published false news. They've knowingly distorted the news. They've knowingly chosen stories sure to inflame their base of raving radicals.

  12. What I keep seeing about the guy is that the abilities shown are inconsistent with what the guy's background seems to be. Beyond that, I know nothing. The bit about ANTIFA is also something that I have seen referred to, not that I have read anything myself.

Yes there is a bunch of reports that we are hearing. Yes, much of it could be BS, but I think it is obvious that there is more going on than we are being told (or is known yet). It is not as if we have had umpteen cases of islamic terrorism where we kept being fed "There is no indication of the motive." If we don't trust the government and the media, it is something that they brought on themselves.

An echo is certainly a possibility, but in the audio they seemed to homed in on the Mandalay Bay pretty quickly -- and they seemed to have been saying they saw shots coming from two different floors. These reports also seemed to go on for quite a long time. I do not know, but I hope we will find out.

    1. I was reading today about all the money he was blowing prior to his evil deed. He gambled away tons of dough, plus sent 100 grand to the Philippines? Plus he had property, and planes, and took lots of expensive trips.

Where did all this money come from? This was a premeditated, intricately planned attack. Who did the planning? This two-bit accountant who liked to drink, gamble, and parade around in a pu**y hat? Bah.

We'll probably never know the truth. If he was a right wing nutjob ala McVeigh the media would be screaming it with huge red headlines. The fact that the press coverage has been muted tells me that this wacko has been radicalized from the left.

    3. Matt, exactly!!!

Did you hear abut Jimmy Kimmel bloviating and wringing his hands about gun control last night? And this on the heels of him bloviating and wringing his hands over health care? He's not a health care expert, nor does he know anything at all about guns or statistics that don't support his canned, idiotic ideology, BUT he DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. What a pompous little man! I'll bet his bodyguards are packing heat.

But gun control is intended for the unwashed masses, not the self-appointed cultural and social elites, amirite?

      Delete
    4. Lady Red, you have to remember that people such as Kimmel are important, unlike you and I.

Off to the re-education camp with you.

Watched a video from Andrew Klaven yesterday. He left out much of his usual humor in this case. He mention how people point to Australia and how the murder rate has dropped since they banned guns. He pointed out the the murder rate in the US has dropped about the same amount during the same period of time -- even though gun ownership has gone up by about the same amount.

And many of the people now calling for gun control -- to be enforced by the government using guns -- also support the NfL players for taking a knee to protest the actions of police (those who enforce the law) and how they use guns.

      These people don't make sense.

      Delete
    5. It can't make sense because it's mental illness. I don't understand people who mindlessly regurgitate talking points, without any questions or any kind of critical thinking. WTH? Are they brainwashed? Lazy? Or just desperate to fit in with the "cool crowd"? Or protecting their own slice of the pie, regardless of the detrimental effect on their neighbors, their state, their nation?

I've noticed that most of these people fit into one of these categories:

People who are on, or have been, on the dole. This includes people who receive gov't subsidies for medical care or natural disaster. This includes people who net income tax receivers rather than payers.

People who are paid by the gov't, either directly or indirectly. This includes teachers, bureaucrats, politicians, even nurses.

People whose cushy, overpaid jobs are protected by the gov't. Unions of all stripes. Banksters. Wall Street.

Who did I miss? And what can we do about such mindless selfishness?

    6. I know rich, self made people who will happily attribute all their success to the government. And all *your* success to the government.

And if we both have to give everything to the government, it will make them very happy.

Because it will prove to them that they are better people than me.

That is the bottom line for the people I know.

  13. I have a question for you all. I watched/listened to several recordings that people made with their cell phones at the concert in Vegas. There are spurts of fire, then long minutes of...nothing. Then maybe a pop pop pop. Then long minutes of nothing. Then another burst. I doesn't take that long to reload, or switch out a jammed gun. What was he doing all that time???

I don't know why it's bugging me, but it is. Thoughts?

Speaking from experience? ;) We'll have a training session and get those reload times down even moar... :)

I'm thinking that he was firing out of different windows - the photo I saw showed windows shot or bashed out on two different sides of the building. Or, perhaps whoever had the phone was ducking or moving...

  14. Nearly two weeks later and we still do not know. It is infuriating.

More and more false flag conspiracy theorists are out every day, using the lack of information to stir up the gullible.

On Twitter, even some who initially laughed at these are beginning to wonder based simply on a lack of information.

Hell, we already have 'truthers' and 'birthers' and a whole industry popping up selling the belief that pretty much absolutely nothing has actually happened, from the Kennedy assassination, to the Moon landing, to Nine/Eleven, Sandy Hook elementary, to the Pulse nightclub, and now to Mandalay Bay.

Personally, I am tired, of this, and so many other things.
