An Eventful Week

Who's having a very bad, not so good week: CNN, Buzzfeed, John McCain, the CIA, Meryl Streep,

Who's having a good week: deplorables who voted for a President who takes no prisoners.

Who's worried: The Saker.

As I predicted it before the election, the USA are about to enter the worst crisis in their history. We are entering extraordinarily dangerous times. If the danger of a thermonuclear war between Russia and the USA had dramatically receded with the election of Trump, the Neocon total war on Trump put the United States at very grave risk, including civil war (should the Neocon controlled Congress impeach Trump I believe that uprisings will spontaneously happen, especially in the South, and especially in Florida and Texas). At the risk of sounding over the top, I will say that what is happening now is putting the very existence of the United States in danger almost regardless of what Trump will personally do. Whatever we may think of Trump as a person and about his potential as a President, what is certain is that millions of American patriots have voted for him to “clear the swamp”, give the boot to the Washington-based plutocracy and restore what they see as fundamental American values. If the Neocons now manage to stage a coup d’etat against Trump, I predict that these millions of American will turn to violence to protect what they see as their way of life, their values and their country. In spite of the image which Hollywood likes to give of them, most Americans are peaceful and non-violent people, but if they are pushed too far they will not hesitate and grab their guns to defend themselves, especially if they lose all hopes in their democracy. And I am not talking only about gun-toting hillbillies here, I am talking about the local, state and county authorities, who often care much more about what their local constituents think and say than what the are up to in DC. If a coup is staged against Trump and some wannabe President à la Hillary or McCain gives the order to the National Guard or even the US Army to put down a local insurrection, we could see what we saw in Russia in 1991: a categorical refusal of the security services to shoot at their own people. That is the biggest and ultimate danger for the Neocons: the risk that if they give the order to crack down on the population the police, security and military services might simply refuse to take action. If that could happen in the “KGB-controlled country” (to use a Cold War cliché) this can also happen in the USA."

  1. I must admit that I'm a little concerned about the inauguration. I'm trusting that Trump won't rely solely on the SS. His best bet? Thousands of military vets on Harleys, armed to the teeth.

    1. That'll give Chris Mathews a tingle of an entirely different nature. ;)

    2. Both Bikers and Truckers have plans to be in Washington en masse on the 20th.

If it hits the fan, I wonder what plans DC Emergency Rooms have to deal with hundreds of melting snowflakes?

As for me, I am stocking up on 12ga & 5.56

    3. Perhaps I am being a little naive, but most snowflakes like to "bring awareness" to things without actually doing anything. So while there may be a few protestors at the inauguration, I doubt there will be a significant number. At this point I would expect more pro-Trump people than anti-Trump people. For the hundres, there will be our thousands. Or for there thousands, there will be our tens of thousands.

    4. DWT, I read this morning that there are bikers helping to provide security. Good!

Matt, the snowflakes are just posturing for their crowd, but there are some actual bad guys out there, paid bad guys, mentally ill bad guys. I'm trusting our "tens of thousands" of deplorables to keep the prez and his family safe.

  2. I am really getting tired of some friends on FB. So much of the stuff they are posting seems about as plausible as the CNN-Buzzfeed story, but some people are just so willing to believe the worst about him they don't even caare to examine the stories at all.

    1. I hear that. It's ridiculous! The "stories" are made-up baloney, but they post and repost with righteous indignation.

There was a group of them the other day plotting on who the "dems and independents" will run in 2020. Topping the list? Bernie Sanders. Then Warren and Booker. They've learned NOTHING from this election, and it will be a joy to bitch-slap them again in 2020 (and beyond).

    2. And now they are saying that with all of these bad stories, how can we trust Trump? Yeah, but that is why those stories are out there.

  3. Oh. I have also updated my picture. This one is about 1 year old, instead of the 6 or so in my old photo.

So it shows me closer to my current appearance. i.e. less hair, more wrinkles

  4. Remember Matt, there was more than a little violence at Trump rallies. Of course many of those "snowflakes" were being paid.

We are also likely to have BLM thugs and more hardcore types, there as well.

Personally I pray nothing happens beyond shouting, but I just do not know

    1. True, but a few thug flakes at rallies now and then is a bit different than a full blown assault with everyone watching and plenty of people on the other side just waiting for the crybabies to make a move. I would also think that the people signing the checks know that the will get the DOJ -- a DOJ that knows what it is supposed to do -- will be ready to pounce.

    2. I keep seeing "BLM" and thinking Bureau of Land Management? and then I'm like oh, right...
