I have no doubt that there is a game afoot; a nefarious plot to install a hand-picked president. A globalist president. Surely the powerful elites have known all along that Hillary is feeble and chronically ill. Backing her for the presidency is intentional; when her illness disqualifies her, *THEY* will step in and select a candidate of their choosing.
I have a bad feeling about this one.

Some idiot came up with that one to deflect from her true condition, not even considering that the electorate would be appalled at her hugging and shaking hands with people (even children!) while she's fighting a bacterial infection that can be easily transmitted.

I don't think it's Parkinson's either. Of course I'm sitting here in my recliner and I haven't examined her, but swallowing difficulties manifest later in the disease process. Also, when PD sufferers fall, they tend to pitch forward, head first. Hillz is melting straight down to the ground as her legs give out. She can't climb stairs unaided (and not because she's overbalanced forward like PDer's). She's having small seizures. She's losing her train of thought as she's speaking. She has a myriad of signs/symptoms of something chronic and devastating.
And the Powers-That-Be know it.
She'll be replaced. The election will be postponed. Trump will be dealt with, one way or the other.
So now I'm fascinated to know what you think this "something chronic and devastating" might be...

The time of the election is set in the Constituion. I see no way that it can be postponed. Something that is NOT in the Constituion: there MUST be a candidate from the Democratic Party. I doubt they postponed any elections when the Whigs fell apart.
DeleteI would vehemently object to a postponement because the Democratic Party was stupid enough to to be extorted into nominating someone who was knocking on death's door. As I read elsewhere else: the Presdency is not a project of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

DeleteMatt, the news media would play a yuge roll in "calming the masses" if the election was pushed back. They routinely prevaricate to further the far-left agenda, and spit on the Constitution as outdated and obsolete. Of course the right, and most notably the far-right/alt-right (including a smattering of libertarians) would openly rebel and scream their bloody heads off. It would be a great excuse to impose martial law and retain the JEM as prezzy for who knows how long.

DeleteMore to the point, what has conservatism achieved lately? In the last 20 years? The answer—which appears to be “nothing”—might seem to lend credence to the plea that “our ideas haven’t been tried.” Except that the same conservatives who generate those ideas are in charge of selling them to the broader public. If their ideas “haven’t been tried,” who is ultimately at fault? The whole enterprise of Conservatism, Inc., reeks of failure. Its sole recent and ongoing success is its own self-preservation. Conservative intellectuals never tire of praising “entrepreneurs” and “creative destruction.” Dare to fail! they exhort businessmen. Let the market decide! Except, um, not with respect to us. Or is their true market not the political arena, but the fundraising circuit?

We are at THE crossroads, I can feel it with all of my being. I agree with everything he says about Trump. He's not a good candidate for conservatives, but he's the ONLY candidate that can set us on a different path and avoid a co-opting of the presidency, martial law, and civil war/misery. We can worry about electing a true conservative after we've pulled our nation back from the edge of the abyss.
This election determines whether we shall live in fear or in freedom.
What about the rest of you? If you recognize the threat she poses, but somehow can’t stomach him, have you thought about the longer term? The possibilities would seem to be: Caesarism, secession/crack-up, collapse, or managerial Davoisie liberalism as far as the eye can see … which, since nothing human lasts forever, at some point will give way to one of the other three. Oh, and, I suppose, for those who like to pour a tall one and dream big, a second American Revolution that restores Constitutionalism, limited government, and a 28% top marginal rate.
But for those of you who are sober: can you sketch a more plausible long-term future than the prior four following a Trump defeat? I can’t either.
The election of 2016 is a test—in my view, the final test—of whether there is any virtù left in what used to be the core of the American nation. If they cannot rouse themselves simply to vote for the first candidate in a generation who pledges to advance their interests, and to vote against the one who openly boasts that she will do the opposite (a million more Syrians, anyone?), then they are doomed. They may not deserve the fate that will befall them, but they will suffer it regardless.
