Football Interlude

Youtube won't let me embed the video from the NFL channel's "A Football Life" so here is the link. It's the sequence of events starting with a devastating hit on Steve Largent by the Bronco's Mike Harden and is much clearer (along with comments by Steve and others).

I'm so burnt out on politics, yes, we did watch the debate tonight but there were too many practiced moments and talking points for my enjoyment. So on to football, did anyone watch the presser a couple days ago with Roger Goodell announcing the agreement with the owners for Kroenke to move the Rams back to LA? It was interesting on lots of levels. I bet the 2 teams who voted against it have to be Oakland and San Diego. Here's a good article on the move from St. Louis, I think the author has it exactly right.

Go Hawks!

  1. You have to watch that first link to understand why that hit in the video by Largent was so sweet for us fans who just love the guy.

  3. Thanks ladies! I was afraid I was boring everyone to tears, I've been on a football binge ever since the politics have gotten to me. I've been watching the NFL channel in the wee hours ;-)

lady red, so sorry to hear about your stepdad. I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you, you're always there for them.

    1. The mindless political chatter has numbed my last remaining brain cell. Yada yada yada. I'm sticking with Trump, and closely watching the "immigrant" invasion of Europe.

  4. Che end of the Sea Hawks game was something.

I would also like to say that I have not been ignoring posts on the table. I had typed a long one using my iPad, but the "publish" button did not want to work no matter how many times I tried. I tried another long comment using my computer, but somehow I got the page to scroll down, wiping out my comment. At times like those I just don't have time to go back and start again. But I liked the posts. Really!

    1. I've been in the habit of copying my long posts to my clipboard before attempting to post. Nothing is more frustrating than to have a post disappear into never-never land.

  5. I figure everyone's busy (and not all are as enthralled by football as I am).

Lordy, I know how frustrating it is to lose comments, my most eloquent stuff has gone into the ether, lol. If it's more than 2 sentences, I give up.

    1. I'm every busy these days with work-type stuff. It's fun, but my ability to keep up with news is diminished. Blessedly. ;)

Anyone see Lindsey Graham endorsed Jeb Bush? Has there ever been a less relevant piece of trivia? I mean seriously, if the American people can muster even one fuck to give between all three hundred fifty million of them, I'll match it. Otherwise zero fucks given.

I miss seeing you in the wee hours here on TCKT :-)

  6. GREAT post florrie! Man, the hit that Harden laid on Largeant was brutal. He and his broken teeth should have been ejected from the game, and forced to warm the bench for a few more games after that. I loved Largeant's vengeance though. Wow. He clobbered Harden!

The Rams have a big following here in fly-over country, and the natives are ready to tar-and-feather that jerk Kroenke. Was an asshat he is. Good riddance. I'm sure St. Louis can find another team to play in the beautiful new stadium they're building.

As a side note, I think St. Louis's home-game attendance would be better if they cleaned up the thugs and criminals. St. Louis is NOT perceived as a safe city to bring your family for an excursion downtown. Especially at night.

    1. I knew you'd like it, lady red! We're both Brett Favre groupies, after all :-)

I was hoping you'd give your take on Kroenke. I think your points are spot on.

Oh well, we fought back and made a game out of it.
