Bing & David...A Classic

I've said it before and I'll say it again, David Bowie is the person who impressed me the most in live concert.  I've seen a lot, and I mean ALLOT (tehe florrie) of singers and bands live, Bowie is absolutely the one who sounds better live than recorded.

  1. I love this SO much! It's become my favorite, and I'm so glad you posted it again Fay. It's become a TCKT tradition!

Love the sidebar picture too. It's beautiful.

    1. Plus, David has his "British teeth" in this video. Way better than the zero personality, straight, white, row of soldiers crap, that his American "managers" forced on him. I hate Hollywood.

  2. I love it too lady red.

We have some fabulous pictures of our trip to Israel, I felt this one was very fitting for Christmas. Matt is a very good photographer. This was taken in the Church of the Dormition in Jerusalem old city. It wasn't on our tour itinerary but our guide decided to take us in their on our first morning in Jerusalem. It's stunningly beautiful and we were the only tourists there (this is a bonus, believe me).

  3. Fay's video is "unavailable", so here's an alternate link for the youtube video. Wouldn't be Christmas without it! You know, I was looking at the date on that and I thought it must be shortly before Bing Crosby died. I think my brother's graduation from Gonzaga (Crosby's alma mater) was in '78 and Bing was to be the commencement speaker. But he passed away so Bob Hope did the honors. So sure enough, this video must have been one of his last.

Fay, I love what you said about Bowie's "British teef"! Being a Led Zeppelin fanatic, I've watched "Song Remains the Same" dozens of times and there are several scenes in which you notice Robert Plant's bad teef (he was actually missing one or two). He got his fixed as well.

That church fresco is so beautiful. I hope you'll post more of them (or if they're on the dreaded facebook, I'll look there).

    1. Going by memory, this was recorded in July and Bing passed away in September or October.

    1. I watched it a second time as well florrie. I never deleted the PVR so we still had it on our recorder. Of course I received the CD from Santa so have now heard all the new songs. There are four that I love and they will be on constant replay in my car!
