First Day of School-3rd Grade

Where does the time go? She's decided that she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Oh, and an engineer!

  1. Oh that darling Em! She is such a cutie, those eyes!

Gosh, 3rd grade, I remember so well the day you posted about her birth. Thanks so much for sharing this, lady red, I was feeling hot (cooking dinner plus it's nearly 90 today) and irritated and this definitely put a smile on my face.

  2. She must be responsible for the artwork behind her? I'm impressed! Love the colors.

    1. Yes! She loves colors, in her artwork, her clothes, the decorations in her room. I love that about her! (among a million other things!)

  3. Oh wow, what a beauty! I too remember when she was born. You must be so proud lady red!

  4. Love her outfit too. No doubt the work of mom and dad?

    1. Actually they stick to tie dye, but her mom is a wonderful shopper and fun to go bargain-hunting with.

  5. Unbelievably adorable.

(If I show my wife that pic she's going to want the cat shirt!)

    1. LOL!!! As big as Em is getting, that shirt would probably almost fit Mrs. Lewy!

  6. Thank you for the cheerful post, especially needed by me today. I lost my dearest of all dogs yesterday....my little "Omega" Dera dog. It seems unfair that I should survive cancer twice and lose 2 beloved dogs in a relatively short period of time to it.

    1. Oh no...I'm so very sorry you've lost Dera. My hurt hurts for you Aridog. Hugs to you my friend.

    2. Ari, I'm so sorry. Our love for our animals is the purest kind, I think. People are complicated. (Dogs and cats, not so much.)

How true, thank you for expressing that sentiment, lewy.

  7. I'm very sad to hear that, Aridog. Prayers sent during this difficult time.

I remember a photo you posted of the original Dera, she was the most beautiful German Shepherd I had ever seen.

  9. Lady Red, those pictures are gorgeous! You must be so proud of Em! :)

It's so exciting and magical to see those babies grow up. And we get to do all the spoiling while we leave the crisis management to the parents. :))

(Funnily enough I have very similar pictures - just with a lot more of them crowded by the front door... (6 of my daughter's and 5 of my son's..).. :)) )

  10. Aridog, I'm so terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful Dera. I know how dear she was to you and what a loyal friend she was. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

    1. I'm okay Anne, just sad a bit. Not my first rodeo, so to speak, with dogs or horses. It never feels any different. Another dog will come along, I must have a dog, and maybe this time I will pay back for all the joy I've been given by adopting a "pound puppy" who needs me more than I need him or her. Time will tell.

Thanks to all of you for the compassion and understanding my quirk about dogs that I like more than most people.

    2. Dera was special, and chosen to be just that, given Ari's hardness, which she ameliorated, so this time it is especially hard. I'll be fine, in time...she's sorely missed is all I can say.
