Girl from the North Country - Lions

I was all set to post Friday music when I realized it was still Thursday. (Long week.)

I was sad and impatient for Friday.

Then I remembered I was all grown up and could do what I wanted, and that it was better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

So I posted this. LIKE A BOSS!

(Sorry! Is OK?)

(The song has an interesting history - honestly I didn't remember any of the originals and notable covers. This particular treatment is interesting - I may be just slightly too young here; for me it recalls the best of the late 70's hard rock bands - what Journey would have been if they hadn't sucked so bad...)

  1. Written by Bob Dylan...I should have known that, but didn't. I like this cover (I like ALL the music selections from SoA).

Journey was labeled as "corporate rock" way back when. Their stuff was composed for the radio, and that's okay. I still enjoy their music (along with Styx and Foreigner).

lol, I just love you! You have such a good sense of humor.

I recognized the song but barely. Very original cover, I liked it. Still haven't watched SoA though. It's all I can do to keep up with my other shows...but I enjoy they music from the series that you've posted. I wouldn't have known about Ed Sheeran if not for that and I think he's super.

    1. Hi flo!

I would not recommend SoA unless you have a stomach for violence. It's not gratuitous, but the level and fidelity of the violence is pretty horrific.

The music is awesome; I have a few more tunes to post at some point.

    2. Heh heh. I'm currently rewatching The Sopranos, we have the boxed set. Just watched the episode where they sawed up Ritchie Aprile in Satriale's Meat Market.
