Friday Music: Happy Happy Election Results Music

Here Comes The Sun...

I Can See Clearly Now...

Dancing In The Street...okay it isn't summer but it is a reason to dance.  In the street...

And, no matter how things rolled, the consistent message from this man urged us keep faith.  His message?  Never give up.  And we never did.

  2. Mick and David...Gay on a whole new level. I believe that both of them were androgynous back then. I find them completely adorable in this video.

  3. LOL!!! Fay, you rick-rolled me!

I love it, these are happy songs indeed, I still feel upbeat about the election results. Now lets hope all factions of the republican party work together for the good of all.

Here Comes the Sun is one of my absolute favorite Beatles songs. I remember when that video came out. It was somewhat risque back in those days. My, how tame we were in comparison to the millennials.

  5. My, how tame we were in comparison to the millennials. And how happy I am for that. So glad I am 60 now and not 16 or 26 or 36 or even 46!

    1. I often tell Tom the same thing, Fay. We were so lucky to grow up in the era that we did.

  6. Of course, I meant the video of David Bowie and Mick Jagger...

    1. We were so innocent then. When that video first came out I just saw two joyful musicians dancing, singing, and being happy. Now I see two gay guys.

    2. Moar triumphant music. Wid teh ghey!

I think some triumphalism is warranted. For a day or two anyway...

    3. Good one, Lewy. I think even Fay will agree with that one.

    4. Yes, great choice, lewy. I adored Freddie, I still get a lump in my throat when I watch him perform...

    5. Speaking of Freddie, I was going to post this video eventually but this seems like a good place. I thought it was really well done.

  8. Pre-election liberal FB meme: you stupid teabaggers should drop dead! We hate you! HATE YOU! DIE NOW!

Post-election liberal FB meme: can't we all get along? We have so much in common...

    1. We should all write every one of the Republicans and tell them that they were not elected to "get along." They were not elected to "reach across the isle." They were elected to get rid of just about everything the democrats have forced upon us. They were elected to bring the United States back to the United States.

    2. Right on, lady red. I would only add that their favorite moniker for us now is simply "baggers" and what I've heard lots of libs screeching about the last few days is how republicans "got what they wanted, now they HAVE TO LEAD, HAVE TO LEAD, ARRRRGGGGHHHH".

Even that putz Tom Brokaw had a live meltdown after the election, he was gnashing his teeth and pulling his toupee hairs out in hysteria. Ahhh, I love the smell of liberal desperation in the morning...

    3. Amen to that, Matt, I think the republicans got the message loud and clear.

  9. Now, if the Republicans in Congress are smart, really smart, they will confirm the new Attorney General nominee almost unanimously. She's whatever she is, but anything is better than Holder. Plus...the event of unanimity will stun the progressive Democrats. Nothing would please me more than that. What the heck, she's gone in two years anyway. Just go ahead and blow their minds now. Do it.

    1. That strategy would undercut the progressive talking points. I like it. And yes, anything is better than Holder.

    2. Although she took the usual stance for democrats on voter ID cards, I heard Rudy Giuliani talking about her and he said she would be a very good AG. I agree it will be smart to pass her through without unnecessary delay and I think that's what would happen from the pol chatter that's out there.

  10. One more comment vis a vis "Tea Party." Who is the group named that who calls you 5-6 times per day daily? If they are connected with the Tea Party movement they are going to destroy it. I finally corned one of their solicitors and said, A.) I will find you , and B.) don't call me again because I already voted straight ticket Republican and supported the Tea Party candidates. These guys are assholes and will wreck any progress made to date. Anyone who gets these calls, do the same...they are NOT your friend.

    1. The phone calls this election cycle were overwhelming. Between them and the vampires (the Red Cross wanting Noah's O-neg blood) our phone was ringing constantly. We hung up on the Tea Party people too; they were obnoxious. I have no idea who they REALLY are.
