Late, late, late, late Friday night music...

Seems like someone has to pick up the slack here.
I can't listen to this song too often because it gives me ear worm but I love it (and the video). I didn't want to knock off lewy's post so maybe someone can put that back on top?

  1. flo, no worries. Sia's tune is kinda catchy, I see what you mean about the earworm thing but I like it.

Sia has shown up on some of my poking around on youtube but I hadn't clicked on her yet (there's only so deep you can drill into youtube my gawd...) so I'm glad you posted this.

    1. I'm familiar with this song and video but only because the video caused a bit of controversy when it came out. The girl dancing in the video is/was 11 or 12 years of age when the video was made and the make up, wig, outfit, and dance moves are extremely sexualized for a child of that age. There was some uproar. With which I agree.

    2. Glad you brought that up Fay.

I was like: wow, she's pretty... really fit, mmm... she's kinda... young, eh? hey wait is she a... child?!?! omg wash mind out with soap...

    3. I thought it was the singer so I did not look that closely.

Why do we do this to our children?

  2. I've tried to post this 4 times now. Blogger sucks.

Is this the legendary, lost "Smile" album?

Brian Wilson seems to think so.

In any case, it is fifty-two minutes of bliss, and the ultimate California Surf/Classical fusion album.

I am listening, headphones on high, as I try (for the THIRD freaking time) to post this:

Perhaps someone who does not want to commit homicide in the offices of Blogger can connect this as a video.

But I must say, getting screwed up, again and again has pretty much ruined the good mood I was in when I started to listen to this

    1. Hey Dances, sorry it acted up on you. I'll post your video as a post.

It's actually a little tricky... in fact I'm wondering now how other people do it.

I found if I post the youtube embed code in the HTML view, and then go back to the "Compose" view, Blogger can lose the embed code for the video.

The only thing frustrating about computers is expecting them to work. Once you get over that, it's a piece of cake. When they work, it's good luck, and when they don't that's just normal.

    2. Aaaaand we're good.

Wow, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I just discovered the really easy way to post a video on Blogger.

Go to youtube. Find awesome vid. Hit the "Share" button. Icons will pop up. Fourth one from the left is a white "B" in an orange background. That's Blogger. Hit that button. Boom, a window opens with your video embedded in a Blogger post, ready to add any text description you want. Hit publish. Dunzo.

Sadly I think I'd been doing it "the hard way" because I knew how. Worse I probably passed this bad knowledge on.

    3. Thanks for that tip lewy, I'll try that the next time. Like you I was using the embed code and like you experienced, sometimes it would get "lost".

  3. Oh, well I didn't know of the controversy. I mean, the girl and Sia performed this exactly like the video on the daytime, very tame "Ellen" show. I personally didn't see the dancing as sexualized, I just thought she was a fantastic dancer for someone so young. I do know that she is from Dance Moms (although I've never seen the show).

  5. OK, I changed it to my favorite Beach Boys video (they are wearing their pants so high, lol!!!).

I had just sent the Sia video to Tom and asked him to give me his opinion, he said it made him feel a little uncomfortable. So sorry, you all, my favorite shows are the dancing shows and although some of them are considered "steamy" I honestly just thought the girl was an amazing dancer.

    1. Oh, no wonder I didn't see any dancing! lol

The Beach Boys look SO uncomfortable on stage. It's really hilarious. Fay is right...those PANTS! lmao

  6. You didn't offend me florrie, I was just saying how I knew of the the video and how I didn't think the content of the video was appropriate for an 11 year old girl to be involved in. To each their own.

  7. OMG the pants in that BB video are awful and embarrassing. WTH were they thinking.
