Friday Night Canadian Music

In honour of Canada and her support of Israel, this Friday's  music is all Canadian.  Thank you PM Harper you make my heart happy with your unfailing and staunch support of Israel.  O Canada, the true north strong and free!

Echo Beach - Martha and The Muffins

Suzanne - Leonard Cohen (oooh yeah Babee)

You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (said Bibi to Imadinnerjacket) - BTO

Hymn To Freedom - Oscar Peterson (perfect)

  1. I am anxiously awaiting the results of the U.S. election. I might have some serious soul-searching if it goes the wrong way.

  2. Sadly YouTube has blocked the Echo Beach video for us 'merikans... but I found this one of a live performance from 1980: link. Wow. Hadn't thought of that song in a while... it was all over the radio... once upon a time...

Reminded me of another Canadian singer from that era - Jane Siberry... Mimi on the Beach... saw her live in about '85, she put on a great show. Cerebral, rich sound.

  3. Aww that's too bad Lewy, I was actually thinking about you when I posted that. I figured you might be a fan of that song.

I never was a Jane Siberry fan, bit too weird for me.
