A Day For Thanks Giving.

Here is a good listing of quotes about giving thanks, from theDeseret News.

One they missed, but which I particularly like is "Today the Lord gave each of us 86,400 seconds - Have we used even one of them to say 'Thank You ?' "

To all of you here, my friends and family online, I say Thank You.  For putting up with me, if nothing else.

Of course, there is so much else.

  1. A very happy Thanksgiving to all. The Kitchen Table is a wonderful place to gather with friends. Thank you all for making it so special.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'm grateful for every one of you!

We're heading out to my brother's house, about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Their majesties are coming along as well so we don't have to hurry back. I hope you all have a wonderful, safe day.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am so thankful for each and every one of you...I can't express how much joy your friendship brings to my heart. :X

We've made the rounds today; over to our son and DIL's house to return their daughter (about a 40 minute drive to get there) and we've been to Mom and Dad's house twice. Now we're settling in with a Packer game and tons of yummy leftovers. (We had our big feast yesterday, because our son is working swing shift today.)

  6. OK, both my Baked Corn (Lyana's recipe, slightly modified) and a 'Berry Medley" pie are in the oven, along with a pre-cooked, carved and frozen turkey that is currently reheating.

The baked corn has about 10 minutes to go, and the pie? I have no idea.

10 minutes is also about time to check the turkey for sufficient dryness.

Plan to be heading for my mother's house at about 3:30-3:45, and eating at about 5 pm.

Hope everyone's day is wonderful, and that you all have a lot to be thankful for.

  7. I started the day with a dentist appointment. And I have been working on school projects. But Fay is here, and my young'un called me, and I have my friends here.

    Life is good.

  9. Thank you, everyone, for being... well, just being!

What passes for my spiritual practice includes the gentle imperative to cultivate gratitude. In short, that every day should be Thanksgiving day.

Some days of course this is easier than others. But it's good to have a special day so dedicated.
