  8. What a great card! Lenny, Jimmy Page and cake, it just doesn't get any better than that! Thank you so much, Fay mou, and thanks to all my friends here for the kind birthday wishes. (I called Tom over here to the laptop "OMG - Look at this cake!") Matt has a lovely singing voice...

And since everyone is clamoring to know ;-)

No cooking or dishwashing is the rule of the day. We're going to Red Robin for a burger and then to this little place out in the sticks that makes the best apple fritters on the planet (only on Saturdays, woohoo!!)
Then tonight is fight night on PPV. Life is good.

I'm so glad to have you all in my life, dear friends.

  9. Just to add a funny side note ~

Tom got me some Donna Karan cream for my birthday - it's one of my favorites and very extravagant. Anyway, I was wearing it the day of a dr. appointment; the nurse walked in and said,"What's that smell, Vicks?"

    LMFAO!!!!!!

  10. Aaargh! I don't believe it! I missed florrie's birthday! I even put a reminder onto my cellphone a while back, and it dinged last week to remind me. I was going to send you a real card florrie, but my life sort of got in the way.

Firstly we had a new granddaughter, as I mentioned earlier and I ended up babysitting the 2 "big" sisters (aged all of 2 and 1). Then I went down with strep throat. Plus I was up to my eyeballs in our womens' charity's Purim project (I run the database) and... suddenly it's your birthday.

I hope you had a wonderful day and I wish you a year - no, many many years, until 120 - of health and happiness together with Tom and all your dear family and friends. :X :-*

And now it's Purim (started tonight), so I wish all those celebrating Happy Purim too.

(I'm so sneaky - this Purim basket can do double duty as a birthday gift for florrie!) :))

  11. Annie, I think we can make you an honorary western-hemisphere-ite where it is still Florie's birthday.

  14. tee hee, multitasking is good, annie! Thanks for the good wishes, you made it in plenty of time, it's only 4:00 in the afternoon here :-)

We just had our Red Robin burgers and bypassed the apple fritters for 2 rhododendrons, tee hee. My waistline is grateful.

  19. I'm so sorry I missed this yesterday, florrie! It's been so busy here lately that I've forgotten to make dinner multiple times in the last week (don't worry, it's not helping me lose any weight).

But HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I'm so glad to have "met" you!

And PS: Super awesome job by Jon Jones, eh? What a birthday present! He won a title belt AND stopped a thief all in the same day!

  20. I had him picked for TKO in Rd 2, I was only off one round! But I thought Rua would be much stronger (I like both fighters but thought Jones would win).

I think the next matchup that would be worthy is Spider Silva vs Jones. Wouldn't that be AWESOME?!? Won't happen but we can always dream, eh?
