  1. As I was watching the footage, my jaw hit the ground and tears came to my eyes.

I had NO IDEA it was this bad. :(

  2. Wow, that is terrible. I didn't even know there was a flood in Nashville until you posted yesterday lady red. I don't think it has received any media coverage up here.

  3. Fay, it hasn't received much coverage in the US either. The media dropped the ball. Again. I doubt if they could even FIND Nashville on a map.

The people of Nashville are amazing, and an inspiration.

  4. I read that Taylor Swift has donated $500,000.

Still waiting to hear from Sean Penn. Anyone seen him paddling to the rescue yet?

And the second is the real reason for the first.

The people of Nashville are doing it on their own, not sitting and crying and waiting to be rescued. Naturally, this display of non-dependence on government just is not newsworthy.

  8. Dances With Typos....I will stand by my comments HERE.

Nashville is one of the staging Districts for my old office's ERT teams and equipment. The City and County there have a clue and know what to do as well. If there is no local organization, no amount of "outside" assistance can do squat. Been there, done that, wore out the tee-shirt. They get it, NOLA and LA did not.

  9. Fay - OMG. ROFL. Too funny.

The sad thing is, many hedge funds operate this way. The sadder thing is, it often works for them.

  10. Lewy, how much of the DJ is made up of hedge funds?

  11. Fay, if by "DJ" you mean the component companies of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the answer is "none".

Neither do the hedge funds own most of the stock of those companies in the DJIA. Mostly this stock is owned by pension fund and mutual fund managers, who are not hedge fund managers.

  12. Yes, that's what I meant Lewy. Thanks for your answer.
