The Mighty Cumberland River Has Spoken

My husband's family is from Tennessee, and this morning his aunt sent us pictures of the flooding at Opryland in Nashville.

I can't imagine what it's going to take to clean up the mess and repair the damage, but the people of Tennessee have rolled up their sleeves and are tackling the problem with their customary self-sufficiency.  Wow.

  1. I am in awe of the people of Tennessee and how they have handled this.

I'm also flummoxed by the practical yawning acknowledgment of their predicament by the media. It seems to me that this is a much bigger story than they have made it out to be. It's a disaster, but they will come out of it. And probably much sooner than NOLA did(n't).

  3. Thanks Matt. His kinfolk are up in the Smokies in the eastern part of the state. I think Middle Tennessee got the brunt of the flooding.
