YOM HAZIKARON

Today in Israel is Yom Hazikaron, Israel's Memorial Day for the Fallen and Victims of Terror. On Yom Hazikaron a siren is sounded twice throughout the country (at 8 p.m. and 11 a.m.) and all traffic and daily activity stops as the entire nation observes two minutes of silence. Outside of Israel, Yom Hazikaron is often commemorated as part of the Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel's independence day observance).

  1. I've never forgotten Gilad Shalit, and I've never stopped praying for him and his family.

    Four years it's been. :(
