The Chicken Underground!

It seems folks in Springfield, Missouri are riding out the recession by raising chickens in their back yards. So what's the problem, you ask? It's illegal! Oh my!

That's right, chicken-farming has been driven underground. Stealthy coops cloaked in camouflage, tiny beak muzzles, and untaxed eggs have the bureaucrats in a clucking dither!  Who will win the battle of the Rhode Island Reds?  Stay tuned!

  1. These days, it's smart to have a garden and a few hens running around the yard. Like the Boy Scouts say: be prepared!

  3. This is excellent - another great talking point for explaining "liberty-minded conservatism" to unthinking progressive liberal types.

In Portland, backyard chickens are legal. (Well, roosters aren't, which leads to some issues).

Imagine the government telling you you can't have chickens!

Imagine them busting you for evading taxes on the eggs!

    Happens everywhere.

Hey, maybe those teab**gers aren't out there protesting to hate black folks. Maybe they're out there protesting so you can keep your f**king chickens. And a few other things...

  7. Perhaps setting up a 'hydraulic empire' of food?

Especially in the cities, where the understanding will be 'if you don't vote for us, then we will not take the food from those who grow it to send to you'.
