Arizona Is Getting Fiesty!

A bill that passed the Arizona House on Monday would "require U.S. presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to submit documents proving they meet the constitutional requirements to be president."

In other words:  a birth certificate.

What if this sort of thing is passed in multiple states?  Will Obama cough up his birth certificate in 2012?  Or was he really born on another planet?  Inquiring minds want to know...

  1. Now we know the REAL reason Area 51 has been hush-hush all these years! That sneaky Arizona! :-)

  2. I can't quit looking at that picture, it's mesmerizing.

I always KNEW he was from Uranus...it's on the internet so it must be true...

(you find some awesome graphics, Miss Red)

  3. Attn: Aridog. (lady red, I hope you don't mind if I go OT here...)

I have both of those photography books you recommended and just started reading last night. Here's a picture I took yesterday:

  4. Oh, I forgot to resize, dammit.

Here are better ones (sorry magic fayre, CEO red and Vikram).

I will post some in the future as I learn more.

This is a gentian blooming for the first time. You can really see how huge the blossom is in proportion to the rest of the plant.

  5. Beautiful florrie, and absolutely no need to apologize.

  6. Not me man. Must be the grues again. They claim they're not getting paid. I tell 'em "neither am I" but they don't care. Damn grues...

  7. Not me! Sneaky little grues...

Beautiful pictures florrie! The colors are amazing; blue petals with a purple interior and a white stamen. Gorgeous! Are gentians a PacNW flower, or do they grow other places too?

  8. I don't think they're exclusively NW, lady red. They are an alpine plant which is why I have it in a sand/pumice/peat mixture.

I have one other gentian, a huge thing, it is amazing in bloom and has survived all our moves. I'd like to post a couple pictures when it blooms.

  9. Look here, lady red.

Here are some alpines and they are VERY hary so would do well in any US zone, I would think.

  10. The one I posted a picture of is Gentiana acaulis, the first species mentioned in the article.

Their picture is slightly more attractive ( :-) but I didn't take my photo until it was almost done blooming - it truly is a breathtaking plant.

  11. Hardy? I read it as "hairy". LMAO!

  12. I was just looking at your link, florrie. They're hardy (hairy) enough for the cold winters here, but I wonder it they can withstand the heat and humidity? They're so beautiful that I'd love to plant some in my garden...

  13. tee hee

No, they aren't hairy at all...unlike Stormi's boyfriend.

  14. Mine are planted where they get only morning sun. If you can find a spot like that, lady red, they should do fine. Wait until you see my other plant, it's about 3' tall and loaded with blue flowers!

  15. I guess you can tell I get carried away when the subject is plants :-)

  16. Ugh! I'm going to kill you for bringing that picture with you floranista!

  17. OT - I just read that Bret Michaels is in critical condition with a massive brain hemorrhage. Geez. The guy is only 47...

My favorite Poison song is "Every Rose Has It's Thorn".

    I hope he'll be okay.

  18. Really? That's terrible :-(

(I can't believe I'm even admitting I know who that is but it's only because my better half watches The Apprentice).

I hope he will be OK too, lady red...

  19. I just checked Drudge real quick but he doesn't have anything yet.

I DID, however, notice the headline "John Edwards to testify about sex tape".

    Ew.

  20. Eighties glam-rock isn't exactly my area of musical interest, but I did like some of Poison's songs. I've enjoyed watching Bret on The Apprentice. I find myself rooting for him and Cyndi Lauper because the other contestants are so sh*tty to them. :)

  21. HuffPo, Fox, and People are all reporting it.

Edwards sex tape? Oh no. Hell no. Just poke my eyes out with a sharp stick and get it over with. Ick.

  22. Eighties glam-rock isn't exactly my area of musical interest

Heh heh, I was beginning to wonder...

Yeah, I've watched some of it but those are the only people I know (besides Sharon O. and Blago, but he's gone). Those women are backbiters of the first order, from the bit I've seen.

    ReplyDelete
  23. In the part I watched, the blonde gal was telling Cyndi Lauper "I LOVE you, but your stories...they're kind of long...but your ideas are GREAT, it's just your stories...".

Cyndi looked like she wanted to scratch her eyes out.

  24. I got kind of turned off by it after watching Joan Rivers and that cheating yetch Jessie James.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You did, Cathy? Well, that sucks because Joan is simply mahvelous...

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hope Cyndi knocks those little bitches on their behinds. They're all obnoxious. Cyndi rocks!

  27. hee hee, must be time to sign off...

  28. The EWOKs have filled up the recent comments. Where's the menfolk? Have we skeered them off?

I guess going from Obama to aliens to flowers to hairy dudes to glam-rock to Joan Rivers to florrie talking to herself has left them speechless.

    Heh heh.

  29. I'm not watching the Apprentice but am aware of the contestants from the commercials.

Oh, okay, I did watch one episode. And all the women except Cyndi and Sharon sucked big time.

But the point of my comment is, that Cyndi is the most amazing female singer I have ever seen in concert. I always loved her but didn't think she was amazing.

On stage, singing live, Cyndi is amazing!

  30. Oh, okay, I did watch one episode.
Ha! The truth is out! Fay can't resist The Donald :-)

And on that note, good night all, smooches...

  31. Wow, so this is where all the beautiful women hang out?

We watched the first Celebraty Apprentice. I found it to be "Who has the biggest Roledex," which did not particularly interest me. Next time around it will be the original format -- and I may watchh it again.

  32. Aridog, you don't need to read all the crazy comments but I hope you will check out the pictures I took ^^^.

  33. Florie...oh, I did see them and I'm still diddling with them a bit myself....I have thing for flower close ups....now trying to get the shadows in the first one's center to open up like those in the second one. (Manipulation with Kodak Digital Sho Plug-In) I have several I flower close ups on our walls here...but no blue one yet. I will get back to you shortly...they're damn nice.
